Ship Visit : Holland America’s Prinsendam

There is much affection for the MS Prinsendam (formerly Seabourn Sun and Royal Viking Sun) and charmingly known as the Elegant Explorer. I was privileged to have been invited to visit the ship by Deluxe Cruises and Holland America Line when she was recently in Portland UK.

A breathtaking Bolle glass sculpture, lit with state-of-the-art fibre optics and etched with the graceful forms of fish, turtles and dolphins, forms the centre piece of the Prinsendam’s gorgeous three-story atrium

La Fontaine Dining Room
The stunning, La Fontaine Dining Room offers sumptuous five-course meals and an extensive list of fine wines to be enjoyed in a stately atmosphere created by elegant columns, rich colours, large picture windows, gorgeous hardwood furniture, fine Rosenthal bone china, and beautiful stemware. Guests may choose from 2 traditional set dining times or flexible “As you Wish” dining.

Neptune Lounge
A private and exclusive lounge to serve the Suites on the Sports and Lido Deck. The Neptune Lounge features a stunning wood interior, a wide-screen LCD TV, high-speed Internet access and a library. It also serves daily breakfast buffets and evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Crows Nest Bar
Up in the Crow’s Nest, observation lounge and piano bar, there are panoramic ocean views, an idyllic setting for enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail or a nightcap with your fellow guests. Explorers Lounge Features a bandstand for after dinner music. Here is where Holland America serve complimentary hot & cold hors’ d’oeuvres to all guests before dinner.

Pinnacle Grill Dining Room
Holland America’s alternative reservations-only dining venue. (20USD pp cover charge) Intimate and elegant, the  Pinnacle Grill provides the perfect experience for diners with a taste for the exceptional. Gorgeous interior décor, Bvlgari® china, Riedel® stemware and an extensive list of premium wines.

Pools
How do you define relaxation? Lounging poolside aboard the ms Prinsendam? Soaking in a whirlpool under the stars? Three separate locations to unwind and enjoy the views of spectacular ports. If you prefer more activity, there is a fully-equipped gym, aerobics classes, personal trainers, sports court, and a jogging track circling the ship.

Spa & Fitness Centre
All the latest exercise equipment with stair-climbers, treadmills, stationary bikes, and free weights. Then reward yourself with a variety of massages and body treatments in the Greenhouse Spa.

Queen’s Lounge The main show lounge with 521 lounge seats, designed for 2-nightly shows with large stage.
