Arriving in Sydney Harbour aboard the Seabourn Sojourn was one of those memorable experiences in your life you just never forget.
It was 5:00am and the majority of guests were up on deck to witness the iconic scenery that we have all seen on TV. Here we were witnessing this first hand. As always, Seabourn did us proud with a running commentary, teas & coffee with croissants and nibbles all served on the foredeck by staff who were enjoying the experience as much as we were. Simply stunning.
As we entered the harbour and towards the city centre, it was one of those moments when you have to take a deep breath, blink twice and realise the beauty of the surroundings. There are so many iconic buildings to see and ponder including the Sydney Opera House and the famous Harbour Bridge to name but two. There is so much history here that it is almost overwhelming, but all too soon the ship has arrived at the Overseas Passenger Terminal located at Circular Quay.
The Overseas Passenger Terminal (known as the OPT) has dazzling, uninterrupted views of the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour and city skyline. More importantly, it also has easy access to Circular Quay’s transport hub where trains, ferries, buses and taxis are available 24 hours, 7 days a week and is just a short walk to The Rocks, an historic precinct with cobbled lanes, cosy cafés and the oldest pubs in the country.
So many things to see which makes you want to come back time and time again to Sydney, Australia.
The end of another memorable and enjoyable voyage from LA to Sydney in the very capable hands of Seabourn.
