The Cunard Queen Mary 2
The Cunard Queen Mary 2 is the Ultimate Ocean Liner and is a great way to cross the Atlantic. We took this trip from New York to Southampton and loved it. There are many choices when it comes to cruises from NYC and this is one of those iconic voyages you should make at least once in your lifetime. Here is a snapshot review of our experience.
The ship
First voyage 12th January 2004, 151,400 gross registered tonnes, 2618 passengers, 1240 crew, 13 decks
What sets her apart from the rest
Elegance & Style and English traditions. Princess and Queen Grill rooms
The look
Art Deco style, traditional British theme and comfortable. Generally the ship was in good condition showing few signs of wear
Staterooms
We had a Princess Grill Veranda ( balcony) suite no 10091. Very comfortable. Copious amounts of hanging wardrobes and drawers. Large balcony with 2 sun loungers and table with ample room to move around. Small TV and no interactive TV. Very quiet position and suite.
Best hideouts
Rear sun deck
Queen’s Lounge for event drinks and afternoon tea. Queens Room downstairs for Afternoon tea was packed and completely full.
