After a full day in the KL heat, it was pure heaven to return to the sanctuary of the ship once again.
A Saturday in Kuala Lumpur – in Pictures
A gentle sail on Seabourn Sojourn in to Port Klang, Malaysia, then an 8 hour trip to Kuala Lumpur “On our Own”. We are on a mission to ‘ascend’ as many of the Tallest Buildings in the World. On this trip we have already made it to the top of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and in Kuala Lumpur we had to make our way to the Petronas Towers the Tallest twin towers in the world.
Very hot weather almost 34 degrees, but we would not be deterred. Had a route march through the walkways which join the city to the convention centre park where the Towers are located. As it was the upcoming Chinese new year KL was dressed for the occasion.
Walking through the city was so easy with elevated air conditioned walkways, and so easy to navigate. It had been a few years since we had visited KL and how it has changed. It is now a bright and bustling city with an easy to use transportation system. The buses are free as we kept being told. Don’t take a taxi the buses are free!! The Petronas Towers are part of the KL Convention Centre or CC as the locals say. You are advised to buy tickets in advance through their web site but from a ship with limited wifi bandwidth this is difficult. Tried 5 times and gave up. The good news is that it was actually cheaper to buy from the ticket desk at the towers as they were able to offer concessions. Very well priced attraction and a must do in KL.
